On 16th May 2025 the Justice and Society Research Centre (together with colleagues from the Faculty of Law) hosted a Roundtable Conversation ‘Exploring Criminology and Criminal Justice through the Lens of Queer Theory and/or Queerness’. This event, held to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, saw excellent and thoughtful debate between guest speakers Sharon Cowan (University of Edinburgh), SM Rodriguez (LSE) and Aube Tollu (Lund University) and roundtable participants.
A recording and transcription of the event – addressing concepts including utopias, abolition, law and justice can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfYKkQI4mWY
The Roundtable was made possible with funding from the British Society of Criminology, the Social and Legal Studies journal, and Wolfson College Cambridge.
